By sea, it is only 6 miles to Corozal and 8 miles to Chetumal.

By 2024, there will be a railway available from Chetumal to all of the Quintana Roo resort locations, including: Bacalar, Mahahual, Tulum, Playa Del Carmen, Cozumel, Cancun and Isla Mujeres.
