A 2-storey concrete house of approximately 2,080 sq. ft. which was designed for energy efficiency and airflow and to comfortably accommodate elderly, frail or handicapped persons. There is a provision made for the future installation of a personal elevator, if required.
The lower floor has one bedroom and one bathroom with an additional outside shower and storeroom. It could accommodate extra sleepers if required. It could also be used for a maid’s or nurse’s quarters.
The upper floor has all of the living facilities for the family on one level. There is the master bedroom and bathroom with shower and spa tub, kitchen, and the dining and living area which extends out on to a screened deck over-looking the river. A closet contains the washer and dryer and there is a balcony on the front and sides of the house.
The house was carefully designed and constructed by experienced craftsmen with quality fittings and finishings and comes partially furnished, including appliances.
Electricity is provided by a solar system as required by all houses in the eco-village with a stand-by generator and there is a water catchment and filtration system. Additional water is pumped from the river for irrigation, etc.
There is a state-of-the art security system.
The house sits on a well-landscaped and maintained lot of almost 8,300 sq. ft. which is mainly lawn but has some fruit trees, including: lemon, pineapple, moringa, chaya, plantain, and banana. A part-time groundsman is available if required.
The property has good neighbours and the eco-development is established and growing and is mainly ex-pat home owners. Community events are regularly arranged.
The village is located about 7 miles from the bustling tourist town of San Ignacio and 8 miles from the large Mennonite Community at Spanish Lookout.
